PALS Certification

Updated: Jul 20, 2024

A Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) program is a specialized training for healthcare professionals who care for critically ill or injured children and infants. It focuses on the systematic approach to pediatric assessment, recognizing and managing respiratory distress and failure, shock, and cardiac arrest. The course includes both theoretical knowledge and practical skills such as advanced airway management, intravenous access, and the use of emergency medications tailored for pediatric patients. Participants also learn about team dynamics and effective communication during resuscitation efforts. The goal of PALS is to enhance the ability of healthcare providers to improve outcomes for pediatric patients by using evidence-based interventions and following the latest guidelines for pediatric emergency care.
