BLS Certification

Updated: Jul 20, 2024

A Basic Life Support (BLS) program is a foundational training for healthcare professionals and lay responders, focused on recognizing and responding to life-threatening emergencies such as cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, and foreign-body airway obstruction. The course covers essential skills like performing high-quality chest compressions, providing effective ventilations using a barrier device, and utilizing an automated external defibrillator (AED). BLS training emphasizes prompt and efficient actions in the initial moments of an emergency, with both theoretical instruction and hands-on practice. The primary goal is to ensure that participants can confidently provide immediate care to increase their chances of survival until advanced medical help arrives.
